It is one thing
to protect your documents from
fire by purchasing a file cabinet
with a fire rating. However, should
a fire occur, there is almost always
water present. File cabinets can get
wet from extinguishers or
sprinklers. Water damage to
documents can be devastating. Schwab
has developed the Trident line of
fire rated file cabinets to protect
your papers from water as well as
fire.
Schwab began the
design of the Tridents with an
innovative seamless design to
protect against the entry of water.
They then used a superior insulation
material which helps prevent water
from coming into contact with water.
Insulite™ is the
insulation used by Schwab to
insulate the file against fire and
heat damage. Insulite™
is the most efficient insulation in
the industry. It does not absorb
water. When typical insulation gets
wet it decomposes and can damage the
contents of a file cabinet.
There are several
other design features that make the
Trident exceptional. Each drawer and
its steel linter combine to make
individual vaults. If a drawer is
open during exposure to water, water
cannot move from that drawer to
another. In addition Schwab owns and
uses the D-B seal technology.
The D-B seal is a
high temperature seal which not only
protects against fire but also
against water seepage. The D-B
technology is applied to the joint
where the drawer head, the outer
cabinet and the inner steel vault
meet. This creates a water-tight
seal that is impenetrable by water
spray.*
The Trident is
the world's first ETL verified fire
file for water protection. Schwab
has received Intertek's** ETL
verification for water protection
for the Trident files. The Trident
not only has Schwab's high standards
in all other areas, now they also
include Intertek's ETL verified mark
for spray resistance.
